Summer Program
Water Safety Instruction (with six levels of skill instruction)
These lessons are taught at the Galesburg Hawthorne Pool for children who have completed kindergarten and have not yet entered 9th grade or youth ages 6-14.
The American Red Cross skill levels ( 1 through 6) are taught in a lesson format of nine 50 minute lessons over the course of three weeks.
Registration is through the neighborhood committee, with informational flyers provided to children at the elementary schools. The registration process, transportation arrangements from the neighborhood to Hawthorne Pool and a portion of the cost of instruction are provided by the neighborhood committees, in conjunction with KCAP and the community support of the Galesburg Community Foundation, the United Way of Knox County, area service clubs, and some township boards.
Classes are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

SWIM SKILL ASSESSMENT DAY, Thursday, June 9, 2011, 1pm-4pm
Registration Opportunity. $1.00 admission.
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors will test swim skills for youth aged 6- 14.
Registration can be completed for 2011 Water Safety Instruction sessions.
Family Recreation
Disc Golf Equipment Check Out- available at the KCAP Office (109 S. Cherry St., Galesburg)
Swimming Parties- sponsored and organized by the local community committees.
